UDHAMPUR, JUNE 14: In order to work out modalities for effective implementation of flagship programme ‘Back to village ’ , District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla, convened a meeting of district officers of various departments here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Gurvinderjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development, Neelam Khajuria, DFO, Udhampur, Shaveta Jandial, District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, Chief Horticulture Officer, Brij Vallabh Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer, Ashok Verma, Executive Engineers, DIO NIC, Anil Sharma, besides other officers of different departments were present in the meeting.
The DDC asked the officers to prepare a Panchayat wise action plan for their respective departments for effective implementation of Back to Village programme. He asked the Rural Development Department to organize activity at each Panchayat in addition to the activity of other departments.
He informed that District Udhampur comprises of 236 Panchayats and 10 to 15 Panchayats of the district will be allocated to each department for carrying out various awareness and extension activities. Besides, every officer shall be allotted one panchayat where officer has to stay for one night and two days for assessment.
DDC said that Rural Development Department will be the nodal agency for the programme and directed ACD to conduct a separate meeting with BDOs and frontline line workers for better coordination to make this programme successful.
