Mohali, February 15: Sleuths of the CIA staff of the Mohali police have arrested three persons with two country-made pistols and five live cartridges from near the railway underbridge at Jagatpura in Mohali.
The accused have been identified as Ravinder of Jagatpura, and Rajinder Kumar and Rakesh Kumar of Ram Darbar, Chandigarh.
Inspector Jagdev Singh, CIA in-charge, Mohali, said they had recovered a .32 bore country-made pistol with three live cartridges and a 9-mm country-made pistol with two live cartridges from the accused.
He said after receiving information, they had set up a checkpoint near Jagatpura village where the three accused came on a motorcycle. During checking, the team found two pistols from their possession. He said a case under the Arms Act had been registered against the accused at the Sohana police station.
