DSEJ Organizes Divisional Level Band Competition

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 16: A Divisional Level Band Competition was today organized by the Directorate of School Education Jammu in collaboration with SAMAGRA here at Teachers Bhawan.
Teams of schools (Government /Private) of different districts of Jammu Division participated. A penal of two judges namely   Satpaul and   Sudesh Kumar from the J&K Police Department adjudicated the event. In the boys’ category, third prize was clinched by SRML HSS, Jammu, 2nd by Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar, Kathua and the first prize was a tie between Sainik School Nagrota, Jammu and Modern High School Dhanori, Udhampur. 
In the girls category, Government Girls HSS Udhampur was adjudged third, 2nd prize was bagged by a combined band (GHS Kachchi Chhawni, GHS Dogra Hall and GHS City Chowk),  and the first prize was clinched by May Fair HSS Chand Nagar, Jammu.
 The diverse band tunes played by the children added to the flavor and colour of the pleasant weather.  The today’s event will be followed by a state level competition to be organized by SAMAGRA on  November 19 2019 wherein the best teams of Jammu Division will compete with the teams of Kashmir Division to represent the state in the RD Parade 2020 to be held in New Delhi.
