Jammu & Kashmir,May 17: A boy hailing from Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir was on Friday handed back to the Indian authorities by Pakistan, nearly half a year after he crossed the Line of Control (LoC).

Ilyas Mohammad of Jhulas village in Poonch had gone missing on 11 December 2013, sources said.

However, a video went viral on social media two days later in which Ilyas was spotted in a village close to the LoC on the Pakistani side.

“Boy has been repatriated through crossing point on the Line of Control,” said a source.

When contacted, SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral said that boy has been handed over to the police by army.

He said the boy will be reunited with his family after all the medico-legal formalities.
