New Delhi,May 18 :Team India recieved a major boost on Saturday as middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav was declared fit and is set to travel with the squad to England for the upcoming 2019 World Cup. Team India will be departing for England on May 22 and Jadhav will board the flight with his teammates.

Kedar Jadhav had injured his shoulder during the Indian Premier League 2019 earlier this month and missed the playoffs. Jadhav was trying to save an overthrow during Chennai Super Kings’ final league match of IPL 2019 against Kings XI Punjab at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium when he got injured.

Jadhav spent his time recovering with Team India physio Patrick Farhart after the injury and passed a fitness test on Thursday. Farhart submitted his report to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declaring Jadhav fit to resume playing for the team.

Kedar Jadhav has been prone to injuries in the past. The Chennai Super Kings all-rounder missed IPL 2018 after playing just one match due to a hamstring injury.

Kedar went on to miss India’s tour of England last year and suffered a recurrence of the injury on his return to the senior national team during last year’s Asia Cup in September.

Jadhav had a disappointing season with CSK in IPL 2019. He managed just 162 runs in 12 innings. More importantly, Kedar did not bowl throughout the season.

But Jadhav is an integral part of the Indian ODI team and provides a lot of stability in the middle-order and is also known as the man with the golden arm. He has the reputation of breaking partnerships in the middle overs with his unorthodox style of off-spin bowling.

Jadhav has played 59 ODIs for India since making his debut in 2014 and amassed 1174 runs at an average of 43.48 including two hundreds and five half-centuries. He has also taken 27 wickets at 34.70.
