Chandigarh, September 18: A man in Punjab’s Ludhiana attempted to kidnap a four-year-old girl while she was sleeping with her family on Tuesday night.
The incident took place in Ludhiana’s Rishi Nagar area when the girl was sleeping with her family outside their house.
The whole incident was caught on camera. In the CCTV footage tweeted by news agency ANI, a vendor was seen sneakily approaching the girl’s bed with his cart. The man then picked up the girl who was asleep and put her in his cart on top of a gunny bag.
The commotion woke up the woman sleeping on the adjacent bed. Fortunately, the man’s cart was right in front of her and she grabbed the girl from the cart before he could run away with her.
The other woman, who was sleeping with the girl, was then seen chasing after the vendor. Meanwhile, the woman who rescued the four-year-old woke up the other family members sleeping inside the house.
On the basis of the CCTV footage recovered, police arrested the accused and filed a against him.
