Now, Kashmiri girl student rusticated from Gurgaon University for social media post over Pulwama attack

Authorities at the SGT University of Gurgaon, Delhi have rusticated a Kashmiri girl student for her social media post over the Pulwama attack.

A university official told media that the action was taken following a complaint against the fourth semester student of radio imaging technology.

The girl, who has not been named, has become the seventh student of Kashmiri origin who have either been rusticated or suspended by the varsities in India following the attack on a CRPF convoy that left 49 troopers dead.

Four Kashmiri students were suspended by the authorities at the National Institute of Medical Science (NIMS) for alleged ‘anti-national’ comments.

Two students of SUS Engineering College Tangori were suspended for alleged ‘anti-national’ posts on social media.

Amid threats and harassment faced by the Kashmiri students, the authorities in two Dehradun colleges have decided not to admit Kashmiri students anymore in the institutes.

The J&K government has claimed to have appointed liaison officers in various states who according to government, were in constant touch with local administrations and college authorities in outside states to ensure that the “students from J&K are not put to any inconvenience.”
