Third day of Back to Village programme celebrated with great enthusiasm at Shopian

Several officers visit Panchayats

Shopian: Continuing with the ‘Back to Village’ initiative of State Government in Shopian district each participating panchayat observed large number of people taking part in the government announced initiative and brought their problems before the visiting officers in each Panchayat.

During the phase 2 of the ongoing initiative, Gram sabha was organised in 34 panchayats of the district. This was followed by meeting with senior citizens and other respectable members of the panchayat regarding various issued faced by the villagers. The visiting officers also visited all government institutions in the village like schools, PHCs, Anganwadi centers, etc. They also inaugurated completed projects and inspected the ongoing works.

During the day, senior officers of the district including District Development Commissioner, Dr Owais Ahmed along with ADDC, ADC, ACR and Executive Engineers of respective departments visited several panchayat halqas in Nadpora, Moshwara and other areas in Zawoora area of district.

The DDC interacted with the newly elected Sarpanches and Panches along with senior citizens and students. He also inaugurated volleball and Kho-Kho competition at Middle School, Moshwara. The people of these panchayat halqas apprised him about various issues and greviences being faced by them. They projected a number of demands including macdamisation of interior roads, installation of receiving station and construction of mini stadium to name a few.

    DDC gave a patient hearing to the people and said that all their genuine demands putforth will be looked into and redressed as soon as possible.
