Alleged Sumbal Rape Incident: Police Request Public Not To Pay Heed To Any News Report
Police on Wednesday appealed general public not to pay attention towards any news report about the alleged Sumbal rape incident.
From past one day, social media is abuzz with the reports about the alleged Sumbal rape incident, while a couple of reports have also surfaced in some dailies.
SSP Bandipora, Rahul Malik told media that they have booked all the miscreants who had posted fake news reports about the incident. “An FIR stands lodged against these miscreants at police station Sumbal,” he said.
“I request everyone not to pay heed to any report pertaining to this alleged rape incident. Our investigation is in final stage and everything will be made public,” Rahul Malik said.
He added that police will file charge sheet in the court of law in coming days. Malik said that they conducted fair and impartial investigation in every respect. “I appeal to people to wait for the charge sheet that we will file in the court of law. Whatever is being reported about the incident is concocted and not true,” SSP Bandipora told media.
Pertinently, a family from Targam Sumbal here in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district alleged that one of their neighbours raped their 3 year old girl child. The accused is in custody while a Special Investigating Team formed by police has virtually completed its probe.
