Secy TA inspects progress on Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel at Samba
JAMMU, MAY 22: Secretary Tribal Affairs Abdul Majid Bhat today conducted an extensive tour of District Samba and inspected pace of progress on under construction Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel.
The Secretary was accompanied by Deputy Director Tribal Affairs Coni Sethi and other senior functionaries of the department.
The Secretary took detailed round of each section in the hostel including Rooms, Kitchen, Study room, TV room, Computer Room and took stock of infrastructure and other related facilities. The executing agency officials apprised the Secretary about the works done so far and also the future work plan.
The officials informed that the hostel would have 20 rooms to accommodate over hundred students with other requisite facilities. Presently, the department is providing accommodations to the students in private hired buildings.
Later, the secretary along with other officers visited Gujjar Bakerwal Boys hostel at Canal Road to take stock of facilities there.
The Secretary took round of Rooms, Kitchen, Study room, TV room, Computer Room and take stock of infrastructure and other related facilities to provide better accommodations to needy students.
Hostel warden Shamim Nazaki apprised the Secretary that the hostel is all set to provide accommodations to the students. It was informed that the work has almost completed and installation of CCTV’s in every floor is in progress. She further informed that they are shifting hostel from private hired building within days to provide better facilities to the students.
