Chandigarh, July 24:The UT traffic police have advised commuters to use alternative routes on July 25 and 26 in view of a nagar kirtan that will pass through various parts of the city on these days.On the eve of 550th birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev, a nagar kirtan had commenced from Gurdwara Nanak Jheera, Bidar, Karnataka. It will reach the city on July 25.
The procession will enter the city from the Furniture Market Chowk and reach the Sector 34 gurdwara via Kajheri chowk, Mataur chowk, the Sector 43/44 light point, South End chowk and the Sector 34/35 light point. From there, it will pass through Sector 33 to reach the Sector 20 gurdwara.
The procession will then leave for the Sector 8 gurdwara via the Sector 21 market, Aroma light point, ISBT chowk, the Sector 18 market, the Sector 19 market and the Sector 7 gurdwara.
The next day, the nagar kirtan will leave the Sector 8 gurdwara at 9 am and head towards the Press light point from where it will take a left turn on Madhya Marg towards the Transport light point from where it will go to Zirakpur via Tribune Chowk.
