10 day long yoga camp for teachers concluded, Ms. Anuradha Gupta for Yoga in schools

JAMMU, OCTOBER 24: A ten day long ‘Yog Trainers Trainee Camp’ for teachers, organized by Directorate of School Education Jammu in collaboration with Department of Youth Services & Sports and Bhartiya Yog Sansthan (J&k) concluded here today, with Ms. Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education Jammu as the chief guest for the concluding ceremony.

The yoga camp which started on 14th of October was attended by 63 physical education teachers/masters/ lecturers from Sumderbani and Lower Hathal Zone ( District Rajouri). These teachers were imparted training in ‘Yog Asanas’, ‘Pranayama’ and ‘Dhyana’ by Yog acharyas and experts.

During the concluding ceremony, the participants of the camp performed various ‘Yog Kriyas’ which were appreciated by the chief guest Ms. Anuradha Gupta, present dignitaries and the audience.

In her address, Ms. Anuradha Gupta appreciated the role played by Bhartiya Yog Sansthan (J&k) in promoting and teaching yoga to the people of Jammu and surrounding districts free of cost. She urged that yoga should be adopted by everyone in their daily routine and asked the teachers to impart yoga training to students in their respective schools as a regular feature. While asking the Bhartiya Yog Sansthan (J&k) to keep organising such camps, Director School Education Jammu said that the Government of India is mulling the idea of starting yoga in each and every school.

Referring to the Fit India Movement launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ms. Anuradha Gupta said that Yoga is going to be an integral part of the movement, targetting ” holistic development of mind, body and soul” of the students. Talking to Paigaam, she said that these students will act as ambassadors of fitness and will carry the message of ” Fit India” to the society, helping in achieving the targets set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the ambitious ‘ Fit India  Movement’.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Satya Pal, State President, and Shri Jia Lal, secretary of the organization, dwelled on the beenifits of Yoga and thanked Ms. Anuradha Gupta for her support and help in conducting the camp. The programme was coordinated by Shri Govind Sharma, Nodal officer, Directorate of School Education Jammu and his efforts were appreciated by one and all.
