Irate over cold pizza, man fires at Domino’s staff

Kharar: Jasbir Singh, manager of a Domino’s outlet in Gillco Valley, Kharar, and his two colleagues had a narrow escape when Sanam Setia, a resident of Amazon Tower in Desu Majra village, fired at them on Tuesday night.

Kharar Sadar police SHO Bhagwant Singh said the suspect had been arrested and a case under Section 307 of the IPC and the Arms Act had been registered.

The SHO said Jasbir Singh told the police that he had received an order of pizza over the phone from the suspect and had sent a delivery boy, Sahib Singh, to deliver it. When the delivery boy handed over the pizza to the suspect, he allegedly abused him for not bringing a hot pizza.

The suspect then spoke to the complainant over the phone and allegedly abused him, saying he would not let the delivery boy leave. The suspect allegedly challenged them to get the boy freed. At this, the complainant reached with his team member Sakat and Mandeep Singh on the spot.

At 10.35 pm, Sanam Setia went inside, took out his revolver and allegedly fired at them. The complainant had a narrow escape as the bullet missed his head.

ASI Balbir Singh reached the spot and arrested the suspect.

SHO Bhagwant Singh said the police had recovered the revolver, 21 live cartridges and a shell.

The suspect was produced in a local court, which sent him to the judicial custody till February 7.
