Chandigarh, February 25: As soon as the question hour started on Monday, AAP MLAs stormed the Well of the House over change of land use (CLU) scam allegedly involving Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu.
Akali MLAs too targeted the treasury benches, though they did not join the AAP in the protest. The AAP asked Local Bodies Minster Navjot Singh Sidhu to explain the issue.
Defending himself, Ashu said that he was ready to face an inquiry.
He said: “I am ready to face any action if found guilty in an inquiry that can be conducted by the Chief Minister.”
He also asked the constitution of House Committee to probe the matter.
The AAP wanted that an audio recording related to the scam be played in the House.
Soon after this, AAP walked out of the House.
SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia alleged that Sidhu connived with the AAP to involve his own minister.
As the Zero Hour started, SAD MLA Tinu raised the issue of CLU scam in the House, involving two Cabinet ministers. Tony asked Sidhu to explain and sought removal of both the ministers.
Reacting to this, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh said that he was waiting for a reply of the Commissioner on the issue. The SAD leaders stormed the Well of the House. The treasury benches engaged in heated arguments with the Akali MLAs.
As Majithia raised the issue of non-payment of compensation to Amritsar rail accident victims, Sidhu hit out at the SAD leader.
Replying to the allegation of Majithia that Navjot Sidhu did not give jobs to the families of the rail accident victims, Sidhu said that he was giving Rs 8,000 per month to the families, who had no bread earner.
On this, SAD president Sukhbir Badal pointing out that no one was behind bars in the rail accident.
The chief minister replied saying that the enquiries were on in the case.
At the same time, the chief minister, took a potshot at Badal, saying that in the road accident involving Orbit buses, no one was put behind bars.
Replying to which, Sukhbir quickly said that the drivers were been arrested. The SAD MLAs stormed the Well of the House, before staging a walkout.
