Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a suspected drug peddler in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official identified the suspect as Aamir Akbar son of Mohammad Akbar Mir, a resident of Mumkak area of Sopore tehsil.
He said they had laid a naka at Krankshivan Colony, Sopore and arrested the suspect.
“Police has recovered 50 bottles of contraband drugs including MAXCOFF, CODEINE P COFF – T and CODEINE APDYL-T from his possession,” he said in a statement.
A case FIR No. 18/ 2019 under relevant sections of law stands registered and further investigation is going on, said the official.
