Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday sought the disqualification of National Conference candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans.
“It is to bring to your kind notice that National Conference Candidate from Baramulla parliamentary constituency Muhammad Akbar Lone through his speech resorted to ultimate disrespect to the country by raising pro Pakistan slogan— “Pakistan zindabad” which has hurt the sentiments of people of not only Jammu and Kashmir but also the people of entire India,” read the BJP letter to chief electoral officer (CEO), Jammu and Kashmir.
Through the letter, BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur requested the CEO to take serious note of Lone’s speech.
He said the videos of the speech were available on social media.
