Shopian February 26 : To discuss the implementation of Pradhaan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan, for unorganised workers a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Shopian Dr. Owais Ahmed in his office chambers.
Pertinent to mention here that recently on 15th February 2019, Govt. of India rolled out a voluntary contributions pension Scheme for unorganized workers titled “Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan”.Under this Scheme unorganized workers whose monthly income is less than 15000/per Month and belong to the entry age group of 18-40 years are eligible. Each voluntary subscriber under the PM-SYM shall receive minimum pension of Rs. 3000/per month after attaining the age of 60 years.
Assistant Commissioner Development Shopian, Assistant Director Employment, Chief Medical Officer Shopian, Career Counselling Officer DE&CC Shopian, Secretary Municipal Committee Shopian, District Manager Common Service Centre Shopian and District Manager LIC attended the meeting.
During the meeting it was decided by the chair that District Manager CSC will depute 4 VLEs (Village Level Entrepreneur’s) to District Employment & Counseling Centre Shopian to carry out the process of linking of eligible unorganized workers falling in the age group of 18-40 under PM-SYM and the performance of CSC operations will be keenly monitored by AD Employment Shopian. AD Employment was also instructed to create whatsapp group and add all the stake holders under the scheme so that the performance/achievements are monitored on daily basis. Chief Medical Officer was advised to direct all the ASHA workers to visit DE&CC Shopian and ensure their enrollment within three days positively. Directions were also passed to ACD Shopian,Program officer ICDS and Assistant Labour Commissioner for sharing the list of all the eligible MGNREGA, other construction Workers and Anganwadi workers with DE&CC Shopian so that no eligible unorganized worker is left out. DDC Shopian also stressed upon the synergetic effort to carry out the enrollment/linkage of eligible unorganized under this social security scheme so that the desired targets are achieved well in time.
