UP Police team wielding guns after encounter in TikTok video goes viral. SP orders inquiry

New Delhi, July 27:Twitter, at times, can really surprise you, and on Saturday, we struck pure gold with a video that has gone viral and is being widely shared across social media. To begin with, it’s a TikTok clip and allegedly features a team of Uttar Pradesh Police officials after an encounter in Basti, a district in UP.

The police officials, wielding guns, are seen walking across a field of sorts in Basti as the chief allegedly issues instructions to his team. A Punjabi song plays in the background as the video featuring the police officials has been shot in a slow-motion format.

Nav Bharat Times, citing reports, states that the chief in the video is Basti’s Inspector Vikram Singh.

The video has garnered over 1400 likes and has been retweeted frequently. Netizens, in the meantime, pointed out in the comments thread that the song isn’t Punjabi but Haryanvi. Some users also advised the officials to work on “costumes and acting,” and work towards making a career in films, hereafter.

Speaking of the video, Pankaj Kumar, SP, Basti District told NBT Online: “We got this video on Friday evening. We have ordered an inquiry into this matter. If the defect in the investigation is proved, then action will be taken as per the rules.”
