The armies of India and Pakistan on Monday traded fire along the International Border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
“Around 12.40 pm, Pakistani Rangers targeted a JCB machine working on repairing the fence near border outpost Chandawn of Hiranagar area,” said an official.
He said the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel manning the post retaliated effectively after which Pakistan stopped firing.
“No loss of human life or property was reported in the brief firing,” said the official, adding that the exchange caused commotion among the residents.
