RAJOURI, 28th OF JUNE: An awareness rally on child protection and drugs abuse was organised by the District Institute of Education and Training Rajouri in Kotranka town which was attended by a large number of students from government and private educational intitutions as well as civil society members of the area.
The rally was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kotranka Shri Ved Parkash in the presence of Principal District Institute of Education and Training Rajouri, Pardeep Sharma and other officers.
The rally started from the premises of Government Higher Secondary School Kandi Kotranka and culminated at the Tehsil complex after passing through the main town.
Addressing the gathering, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kotranka Ved Parkash and Principal DIET Rajouri Pardeep Sharma said that violation of child rights is a major social evil of present era and there is need to have a constructive approach against it.
They also appealed all sections of society to put in their efforts in implementation of all the schemes run by government aimed towards safeguarding child rights.
Integrated child protection scheme law officer in Rajouri, Shivanghi Kant also delivered a lecture during this rally and made students aware about their rights.
Others who were present in the rally include Principal Higher Secondary School Kotranka Mohammad Yousif, DIET experts Fazal Hussain, Mohammad Sarwar, Rahat Jabeen and civil society members.
