Sakshar Bharat mission employees protest in Bandipora, demand pending salaries and regularization

Scores of employees working under Sakshar Bharat Mission (SBM) in education department held a protest demonstration on Monday in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district to demand regularization of their services and release of pending salaries.

The protestors raised slogans and marched from Nishat Park to mini-secretariat Bandipora.

The employees said they have been working under SBM with the education department from last seven years but their services have not been regularized yet.

“We demand a comprehensive job policy be framed so that our future is secured, ” said Zahoor Ahmad, president SBM association Bandipora.

He said that their salaries have also been withheld from past three years even as their services have been utilized from time to time.

The protesters said that their file is pending with planning department for the last two years. “The concerned CEOs have submitted a comprehensive report for framing of job policy in their favour,” they claimed.

They appealed to the governor to personally look into the matter so that their future is secured.

The protestors later submitted a memorandum at the office of DC Bandipora.
