Rohtak, May 28:On the order of a local court, the district police have registered an FIR against a Rohtak college student, who belongs to Uttar Pradesh and claims to be a national-level basketball player, on charges of lodging false complaints of rape and extorting money.

The FIR has been registered against the girl at Civil Lines police station under Sections 182 (giving false information to a public servant), 211 (false charge of offence) and 384 (extortion) of the IPC.

On May 10, the court of Rajinder Pal Goyal, Special Judge-cum-Additional Sessions Judge, Rohtak, had directed the local SP to register an FIR against the girl.

She is a student of BA (II year) at Jat College, Rohtak, and had lodged a police complaint against a kabaddi player of Jhajjar district, alleging that he had sexually exploited her after promising to marry her. He had later refused to marry her, she had alleged.

On the basis of her complaint, the police registered a case against the kabaddi player under Sections 376 (2) (n) and 506 of the IPC. The accused later applied for bail. The matter came up for hearing at the court of ASJ Rajinder Pal Goyal.

During the hearing on his bail plea, the girl stated before the court that she had no objection if the accused was granted bail as they had reached a compromise in the matter. She also told the court that she had got the case registered due to some misunderstanding. Meanwhile, the public prosecutor informed the court that it had come to his notice that the girl had blackmailed several innocent youths earlier. A pen-drive containing a video clip was produced before the court, in which she was seen bargaining with a person over the amount given to her. The copy of another FIR was also produced before the court, which pertained to a case of blackmail registered against the girl.

“From the above circumstances, it is established that the complainant is a blackmailer and she is habitual of getting false cases of rape registered against persons trapped by her, extorts money from them and then withdraws the case or endorses no objection,” the Judge maintained.
