JAMMU, JUNE 29: Director Education, Ms. Anuradha Gupta has expressed profound grief and shock over the death of 14 students, including ten females, in two different road accidents during this week, hailing from Ramban and Poonch districts.

Eleven students, including nine girls, died on Thursday and 7 others got seriously injured in an accident after the minibus they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge in Peer ki Gali Shopian district. The victims were students of a Poonch-based computer coaching institute and were on their way to a picnic.

Whereas on Tuesday in yet another very tragic accident at Karol- Kundi road of district Ramban three
School Children namely Gourav Singh(15), Manjeet Singh(7) and Pooja Devi(10) lost their lives while three other namely Shatrupa Devi(10), Kamlesha Devi (15) and Jyoti Devi(14) got seriously injured. They
were travelling back to home after their school in the ill fated Damper which met with accident at about 3:30 pm just half kilometer short of its destination and plunged into Chenab River.

Director School Education, Jammu Ms. Anuradha Gupta has expressed deep shock over the loss of precious lives and has conveyed her condolence to the grief stricken families of the deceased children on the behalf
of Education Department through Chief Education Officer Ramban Mr. Abdul Hamid Fani and CEO Poonch Mr. Vijay kumar Bhagat.

In the condolence message, Ms. Anuradha Gupta has conveyed her deep sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for the peace of the departed souls.

Joint Director School Education Jammu Mr. H R Pakhroo who was in the District Ramban in connection with
“Back to Village” Programme has also extended his condolence to the bereaved families.

Director School Education,Jammu Ms. Anuradha Gupta while praying for the early recovery of the injured children, assured that
School Education Department stands firmly with grief stricken parents at this hard time and extend its hands for cooperation.

She directed CEO Ramban Mr. Abdul Hamid Fani and CEO Poonch Mr. Vijay kumar Bhagat to stay in touch with the families of these students and extend every possible help in this hour of need.
