New Delhi, June 29:The Men in Blue will be seen sporting orange jersey for the ongoing World Cup tournament.
After the Board of Control for Cricket in India revealed the Indian cricket team’s orange jersey on Friday, several Indian players took to the social media to share their new look.
The BCCI wrote: “Presenting #TeamIndia’s Away Jersey 🤩🤩🇮🇳🇮🇳 What do you make of this one guys? #TeamIndia #CWC19.”
The Indian cricket team was seen sporting away jerseys ahead of their fixture against England.
Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal posted his look in the away jersey. “Ready to rumble in new jersey,” he tweeted.
Mohammad Shami took to Twitter and said he is ready for the next match. The paceman shared the backside of the jersey while standing next to opener KL Rahul.
“Readdy to next match in new Jersey,” Shami tweeted.
The Indian cricket team shared pictures of MS Dhoni, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kedar Jadhav and Dinesh Karthik in a series through its Instagram story.
The need for an alternative jersey arose after the International Cricket Council issued a guideline before the start of the World Cup, requiring teams to have two different uniforms for all its televised tournaments except hosts England.
“For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has a preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match,” the ICC had said in a release.
India, who is the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far, will compete against the hosts at Edgbaston on June 30.
