Panchkula, July 28: In a major success, the police here today claimed to have arrested two suspects from Rajeev Colony near Sector 17 here in an attempt-to-murder case.
The suspects have been identified as Suraj, a resident of Mauli Jagran, and Govind, a resident of Rajeev Colony.
According to the police, the duo was arrested from their house while making small pouches of ganja. These pouches were to be supplied to their customers.
He said the suspects revealed the name of ganja supplier, Govinda Bangala, who was arrested from Mauli Jagran. The three suspects were produced before a court, which sent them to two-day police custody.
Naveen Kumar, SHO of the Sector 14 police station, said they received information that Suraj and Govind, suspects in an attempt-to-murder case, were hiding in a house at Rajeev Colony.
He said they raided the hideout and found that the two suspects were preparing small pouches of ganja. The police recovered 55 kilograms of ganja kept in the house.
During preliminary investigations, they informed that Govinda Bangala, a resident of Mauli Jagran, had supplied ganja to them.
Naveen said they would investigate as to whom they used to supply the contraband in the tricity. He said several cases under the Arms Act, NDPS Act and Damage to Property Act had been registered against them in Chandigarh and Panchkula.
