Patiala, October 29: In a major operation police have arrested a woman Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) allegedly linked to some gangsters and have recovered heroin worth crores from her house in Patiala.
Senior officers are tight lipped but sources confirm that many relatives of the arrested woman ASI are senior police officers. The police operation is still underway when last reports came in. The accused cop Renu Bala was posted in Urban Estate police station in Patiala and initial investigations suggest that she allegedly had invested several crores in real estate.
She has been linked with some gangsters through whom she would get the drug supply and customers, claimed police source. The opposition in Punjab has targeted the Amarinder Singh government consistently over the alleged police-drug dealer nexus.
