Chandigarh, April 29:The UT traffic police issued challans to 24 motorcyclists and eight vehicles for various offences during the AAP roadshow in the city. The police recorded the violations in their cameras and issued “TVIS challans” to the violators.

The motorcycle riders and vehicles were part of the motorcade that started from AAP candidate Harmohan Dhawan’s house in Sector 9 and went to the DC office in Sector 17.Before the roadshow, announcements were made to follow traffic rules and wear helmets while riding two-wheelers, but many AAP supporters didn’t pay heed.

Cops, who were present on the route from where the procession moved, recorded the violations on the basis of which the challans were issued. According to the police, while 24 two-wheeler riders were challaned for riding without helmets, eight vehicles were issued challans for dangerous driving. “The challans will be sent to the address of the vehicle owners,” said a police official.
