Kharar, January 30: The Kharar City police have registered a case under Sections 323, 341, 294 and 34 of the IPC against Kiranbir Singh Kang, a former president of the Youth Akali Dal (YAD), on a charge of assaulting and abusing Gurcharan Singh, a resident of Batta village, who was driving a bus of Chandigarh University here on Tuesday.
Gurcharan Singh had complained to the police that he was ferrying students on the bus. When he reached near the Kharar bus stand, a Mahindra jeep hit the bus. Kang and another person got the bus stopped and abused and assaulted him. He alleged that the conductor of the bus, Narinderpal, was also beaten up.
Kang, however, refuted the allegations. He said he was going to Ropar when his vehicle was hit by the bus driver. He alleged that after hitting his vehicle, the driver tried to run away. He said his arm was hurt. He said he rang up the Mohali SSP around 9 am and a police officer from Kharar reached the spot. He said he was not at fault. ·
