New Delhi, March 31: Congress president Rahul Gandhi will contest Lok Sabha elections from Kerala’s Wayanad, a senior Congress leader said on Sunday.

Senior Cogress leader AK Anthony said at a press conference that this would be in addition to Gandhi’s traditional seat, Amethi.

The development comes after days of speculation that he would be contesting from Kerala. Congress had announced days ago that Gandhi would contest Lok Sabha elections from two seats, but they had put off naming the seat. Kerala Congress had asked Gandhi to contest the elections from the state.

General elections will begin in the country on April 11. Kerala will vote in a single phase on April 23.

Votes will be counted on May 23.  Agencies
