Jammu: Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ) Ms. Anuradha Gupta issued a notice to all Private Tuitions/coaching centres of Jammu division, reminding them to follow the rules as laid down by the concerned authorities in the government from time to time coupled with the directions of the honourable High Court in this regard and made it compulsory for all future applications for registration of such centres to be accompanied by NOC from Fire and Emergency Department along with Building Safety Certificate.
DSEJ, through the notice stressed on ensuring the safety and security of the students and staff at the coaching/ tuition institutes and advised the owners to provide all basic amenities like drinking water , rest rooms, lavatories etc.
Provinding special attention to fire hazards, the issued notice requires all the coaching/ tuition centres to get fire safety audit done
from the Fire and Emergency Department and deposit the report with the directorate immediately.
Most importantly, the notice issued by DSEJ informs that, “In future all the applications for registration should accompany NOC from Fire and Emergency Department and Building Safety certificate from concerned Executive Engineer PWD of the area”.
It is pertinent to mention here that only a few days back 23 students died when a coaching institute caught fire in Surat.
