Militants attack CRPF police party in Kashmir’s Sopore; jawan, civilian dead

Srinagar, July 1: One  Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man and a civilian were killed in a militant attack in north Kashmir’s Sopore sub-district on Wednesday morning, officials said.

While three CRPF men have been injured in the attack.

They said militants attacked a CRPF and police party at around 7.45 am while they placing a naka at Model town Sopore, some 50 kms from Srinagar.

 “Four CRPF personnel and civilian got injured in this firing. All injured were evacuated to hospital,” a CRPF officer said.

Soon after the attack, joint forces rushed to the area and cordoned the locality to trace the attackers.
