27 new positive cases reported today, 254 cases recovered till date in JK
JAMMU, MAY 02: The Government Saturday informed that 27 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), 02 from Jammu division and 25 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 666.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 666 positive cases, 404 are Active Positive, 254 have recovered and 08 have died.
Moreover, 07 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals of Kashmir Division today.
The Bulletin further said that out of 23460 test results available, 22794 samples have tested as negative till May 02, 2020.
Furthermore, till date 74083 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which include 9816 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 188 in Hospital Quarantine, 404 in hospital isolation and 7174 under home surveillance. Besides, 56493 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Bandipora has 128 positive cases with 91 Active Positive, 36 recovered (including 01 recovered today), 01 died; Srinagar reported 15 fresh cases today taking positive cases to 106 with 35 Active Positive, 69 recovered, 02 died; Anantnag district reported 04 new cases which led to 99 positive cases with 97 Active Positive, 01 recovered today, 01 died; Baramulla reported 03 new cases today taking total number of positive cases to 88 with 59 Active Positive, 26 recovered, 03 died; Shopian has 77 positive cases with 03 new reported cases today, 58 Active Positive, 19 recovered (including 02 recoveries today); Kupwara 55 positive cases with 34 Active Positive, 21 recovered (including 02 recoveries today); Budgam 21 positive cases wherein 10 are Active Positive and 11 recovered cases; Ganderbal has 14 positive cases and all of them have recovered including 01 recovery today; Kulgam has 11 positive cases with 08 Active Positive and 03 recoveries; Pulwama has 07 positive cases with 04 active positive, 03 recovered.
Similarly, Jammu has 26 positive cases and all of them have recovered; Udhampur 20 positive cases of which 02 are Active Positive, 17 recovered and 01 died, while as Samba reported 02 new positive cases today taking total positive cases to 06 wherein 02 are Active Positive and 04 have recovered; Rajouri has 04 positive cases, 01 active positive and 03 have recovered; Kathua has 01 positive case who is active positive; Kishtwar had only 01 positive case who has recovered; Ramban has 01 positive case who is Active Positive; Meanwhile, Reasi has 01 positive case who is Active Positive.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
Meanwhile, the advisory issued in the media bulletin urged people to follow the rules of lockdown with utmost sincerity that has been extended, further for a period of two weeks from 4th May 2020.
It further said that as a measure for social distancing in public and workplace, wearing a face cover is compulsory.
Emphasizing upon the importance of being active at home during the lockdown, the advisory said World Health Organization recommends that all healthy adults do 30 minutes of physical activity daily and children should be physically active for 1 hour per day.
Stressing on the early detection of COVID-19 to prevent the spread of disease, advisory said, “let us be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us.”
It further said that not disclosing symptoms could put life of individuals and their families at risk. “In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early. Do not fear, call COVID-19 helpline numbers and seek medical advice,” reads the advisory.
Advisory urged people not to step out of home, unless absolutely necessary. “If you have to move out for unavoidable reasons, ensure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing, personal hygiene and frequent handwashing.”
Similarly, all social, religious and other gatherings are strictly prohibited.

Public is advised to strictly follow the advisories issued by the government from time to time and are urged to rely only on the information released by the government through the daily media bulletin to print and electronic media.
People are also advised to refrain from spreading rumours and pay no heed to them at the same time.
