Destruction of Poppy at Wachi, Melhoora in Shopian
SHOPIAN, MAY 4: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Shopian Chaudhry Mohammad Yaseen and under the supervision of SDM Zainapora and Tehsildar Zainapora along with a team of Officers destroyed 13 kanals of poppy land at Wachi & Melhoora, here today.
The SDM warned the cultivators against the cultivation of poppy and directed the Tehsildar Zainapora and other field functionaries to keep vigil on the poppy cultivation and take stern action, under the relevant laws against those found involved in the poppy cultivation.
