Kupwara students getting study material through WhatsApp, YouTube
KUPWARA, APRIL 07 : In t a situation where everybody is asked to stay indoors and maintain social distance to avoid spread of pandemic COVID-19, the District Administration, Kupwara is trying to keep students the boarder district in touch with their education through different online modes of communication.
The Education Department, Kupwara has made elaborate arrangements to connect students of all Higher Secondary and High schools of the district through separate WhatsApp groups where concerned teachers are delivering study materials to the students on-line. Besides, various Subject Matter Experts are delivering lectures on different topics on Youtube to enable students to avail the opportunity of studying at home in view of lockdown.
“The process of educating the students through online medium has been started a week ago on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg and authorities of Education Department “, said Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara, Abdul Hamid Fani, who is supervising the process of educating students through online modes.
The CEO informed that the instructions has been already issued to concerned heads of Higher Secondary and High Schools to create watsapp groups at block levels, besides a YouTube channel has been also created to deliver lectures with an aim to reach all the students of the district, adding that all the DRPs, ZRPs, CRPs and teachers of the district have been involved in the process of dissemination of information as per the syllabus.
He said, “I am personally monitoring the ‘Zoom Application’ , which has been created by the government to reach out to students more effectively in the district.
CEO also informed that with the active support of Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg, the Education Department is on way forward to co-ordinate with local Cable Operators so that the tele-classes can be introduced in the Kupwara and Handwara towns at an earliest. He said efforts are also on to connect even middle class students at cluster level.
Lauding the efforts of the officers and teachers including District Coordinator Cultural Education Wing, Nazir Ahmad Qureshi, who are working on forefront to make the programme a success, the CEO said that the students are satisfied with the process of education during the spread of the dreadful disease.
