Jammu, June 10: Udhampur district on Wednesday reported another spike in coronavirus cases, with 19 health workers, including two doctors, of the district hospital found infected with the virus.
“With more than 1000 negative reports in last 4 days we wake up with report of 19 positives today mostly staff of District Hospital. These were High Risk Contacts who attended to delivery of pregnant positive lady and were already Quarantined,” Piyush Singla, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, tweeted.
Singla said that 19 fresh cases included two doctors and 17 paramedics working in the district hospital in Udhampur.
Udhampur district has reported a total of 150 Covid-19 cases so far. Out of them, 34 have recovered, while a woman from Tikri had lost the battle against the deadly virus.
Till Tuesday, Jammu and Kashmir had recorded a total of 4,346 positive cases of Covid-19. Of them, over 1,500 have recovered, while 48 persons have died.
A majority of the coronavirus cases have been reported from Kashmir, 3,407, while Jammu has recorded 939 cases so far.
