Shortage in J&K after many officers transferred to Ladakh

Jammu, June 10: The Centre will be sending some of the UT cadre IAS and IPS officers to the union territory of J&K to strengthen the governance system.

As some of the officers have been transferred from J&K to Ladakh, which became a separate UT on October 31 last year, the need is being felt for their replacement.

On Tuesday, the ministry of home affairs had ordered the transfer of four senior IAS and IPS officers from J&K to Ladakh.

Some of the officers in Jammu and Kashmir are holding more than one portfolio. That is having its impact on the administrative working of some of the departments.

Sources said that the Centre will send experienced IAS officers from other UTs to J&K to fill these gaps.
