Jammu, June 10: A government teacher, who claimed that he was kidnapped by two unidentified persons, was found at the forest area of Kalidhar on the Jammu-Poonch national highway on Wednesday morning.
Although the teacher, who had been missing for the last three days, told the police that he was kidnapped by two persons, investigating officers are not ready to buy his story as he had used his mobile during the period he was missing.
Keeping in view the prevailing fear among the locals following the disappearance of the teacher, the administration had a big sigh of relief as it was widely believed that he was kidnapped by terrorists.
“It is too early to arrive at any conclusion at this point of time,” SDPO Akhnoor Ajay told The Tribune. “The missing teacher was traced from the forest area.”
Sources said that the missing teacher was traced through his mobile location as his cell phone was functional during the last three days.
The teacher hails from Rai-Seota village of Jammu district, located on the boundary of Jammu, Reasi and Rajouri districts. As this belt is notorious for being an infiltration route for militants, fear struck people that he might have been kidnapped by terrorists.
The teacher, posted at the government primary school at Potian, had left for school for some official work on Monday afternoon. He was in contact with his family till Monday evening. A missing report was filed in Chowki Choura Police Post of Akhnoor Police Station of Jammu district, after which the Army and Police launched a joint search operation.
