J-K suspends coronavirus control nodal officer for misconduct

Srinagar, March 13: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Friday suspended Dr Shafqat Khan, Nodal Officer, Coronavirus Control, J&K, for misconduct.

“Pending an inquiry into his conduct, Dr Khan, Nodal Officer for Coronavirus Efforts in Jammu and Kashmir, Health and Medical Education Department, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect,” reads an official order.

During the period of his suspension, Khan will be attached with the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, or the Chief Medical Officer, Kathua, it said.

Khan had an argument with Chief Secretary BR Subramanyam over coronavirus control in J-K during a recently held video conference by the authorities.
