JAMMU, January 14: Commissioner/ Secretary to Government School Education Department, Shri Hirdesh Kumar (IAS) today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Education Sector of Jammu and Kashmir, at the Directorate of School Education Jammu office.
The meeting was attended by Smt. Veena Pandita Chairman JK BOSE, Ms. Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education Jammu, Shri Mohd. Younis Malik Director School Education Kashmir, Shri Riyaz Shah, Director Finance School Education Department Shri Ghulam Mohd. Hajam Director Planning School Education and Shri Naseer Ahmed Additional Secretary School Education, and other officers
from School Education Department Jammu, JK BOSE and Samagra Shiksha.
Shri Hirdesh Kumar, Commissioner/Secretary was presented with the information regarding the functioning of various sections of education sector while issues and problems too were discussed thread bare in the meeting and appropriate directions were passed by the Commissioner/Secretary for redressal of the issues.
Amongst other things, it was decided that meritorious students should be identified and felicitated so as to motivate them as well as other students to follow suit. And, DPCs should decide on various promotions in the School Education Department at the earliest. On spot directions were passed by the worthy Commissioner/Secretary to ensure release of pending salaries and arrears of teachers and other staff members of the education sector. He also asked the Director School Education Jammu Ms Anuradha Gupta and Director School Education Kashmir Shri Younis Malik to immediately adjust masters and teachers promoted as lecturers on OPG basis.
Shri Hirdesh Kumar, while reviewing the status of various projects case by case
directed the executing agencies and concerned officers to work with dedication to complete the projects in a time bound fashion so that they can be completed within stipulated time frame. He laid special emphasis on ensuring that the works are completed as per the required standards of quality.
