PULWAMA, APRIL 16: Two COVID-19 Positive patients who were undergoing treatment at District Hospital Pulwama were discharged after they tested negative twice.

The patients were having the travel history from Nizamudin Hotspot and self reported before Surveillance Teams few weeks ago.

 The District Hospital Pulwama has been identified and dedicated for the treatment of COVID-19 patients for Pulwama and Shopain.

 District Magistrate, Dr. Raghav Langer who was present while discharging the patients expressing satisfaction said that authorities have put in place a robust and scientific action plan for containing the COVID-19 infection in the district.   He added that it is premature to shift our focus from the the tracing of the contacts including other necessary measures in place for abating the pandemic.

 He hailed the medical fraternity associated with the management of the COVID-19 patients and them to have a proper follow up and adopt quarantine precautions of the patients being discharged.

 The patients while leaving for their homes praised and thanked the doctors and nurses for taking care of them.

Meanwhile senior officers from the District Administration said that the two patients discharged belonged to District Shopain.

DM Pulwama reviews functioning of Surveillance Teams

PULWAMA, APRIL 16: District Magistrate, Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer, today chaired a meeting of second line Health, Surveillance and Screening teams, who are constituted to strengthen the surveillance and reporting of cases with travel history and quarantined people, here today.

ADC’s Pulwama, Tral and Awantipora, CMO, Medical Superintendent, Tehsildars, BMO’s, members of Surveillance teams  attended the meeting.

During the meeting various issues related to boarding and reinforcing the purpose of surveillance and necessary steps to ensure robust data collection in the district were discussed.

On the occasion, DM stressed upon the members of surveillance teams, to help the first line Health, Surveillance and Screening teams for efficient surveillance in their respective areas.

He asked them to keep close vigil on the suspected persons coming from different parts of the country and home quarantine them, if required.

He directed these teams to involve local influential persons and religious leaders to ensure proper sanitation, awareness about personal hygiene and social distancing to avoid the Covid- 19 infection.
