Nominations invited for grant of ‘J&K Government Awards’
JAMMU, JANUARY 22: The Government today invited nomination for grant of J&K Government Awards for the year-2020, on the eve of Republic Day.
The procedure for conferment of the award have been notified Vide Government Order No. 1268-GAD of 2003 dated 26.09.2003, read with Government Order No. 50-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 09.01.2020.
As per the notification, ‘J&K Government Awards’ shall be conferred for excellence in diverse fields on the eve of Republic Day.
These are Award for Bravery; Award for Achievements in the field of Literature; Award for Performing Arts; Award for Excellence in Arts and Crafts; Award for Social Reforms and Empowerment; Award for Meritorious Public Service (two awards shall be reserved for Non-Gazetted officials); Award for Life Time Achievements in any other field; Award for Outstanding Sports Persons; Award for Outstanding Media Persons; Award for Outstanding Environmentalists and Award for Outstanding Industrial Entrepreneurship.
As per the scheme, the nominations for granting ‘J&K Government Awards’ can be made by, Social Organization; Sports Bodies; NGOs; Universities; J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages; Administrative Secretaries in relation to awards for Meritorious Public Service; Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners.
Meanwhile, the government has directed all the concerned to send suitable nominations/recommendations of eligible persons/organizations, alongwith citation(s), brief bio-data and supporting documents
