SAMBA, MAY 22: In wake of prevailing situation arisen due to covid-19 pandemic, the district administration Samba today sent the stranded interstate migrants to Katra Railway Station for their further Journey to their home state.
Over 1690 persons all from state Chattisgarh were sent in a fleet of 58 buses from the dispatching point at bari Brahmana and Vijaypur in district Samba.
District administration under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Samba Rohit Khajuria today dispatched 1690 persons all hailing from central eastern state of India, Chattisgarh were dispatched in a fleet of 58 JKSRTC buses. Breakfast, tea and snacks were provided to the stranded people while packaged food and water was provided with them for travel.
Assistant Road Transport Officer, Rehana Tabassum and Assistant Labour Commissioner, Samba Amil Khateeb oversaw the complete process of dispatching of the interstate migrants. It was also informs that more such efforts shall be taken in coming days to ensure smooth and proper transit of interstate migrants.
