Jammu, June 29: Three persons working with the Army as porters were detained by the security forces in the border district of Poonch after they were found using social media platforms in a ‘sensitive’ manner.

“Questioning of the detained persons is going on. As of now we cannot say anything,” a senior police officer said.

The three men belonging to Poonch district were working as porters in an army unit near Bhimber Gali area of Poonch district.

Officials said that during routine monitoring, the trio was found using social media in a suspicious manner. “Their use of social media was treated as ‘sensitive’ and their numbers were also added in some groups which raised suspicion,” officials said.

“Nothing adverse has come to the fore so far except that they were using social media in a sensitive manner.”

Meanwhile, security has been intensified in the areas of Poonch district bordering along Kashmir Valley.

Sources said after reports that some militants active in Kashmir Valley were desperate to infiltrate into this part of Pir Panchal, security in all vulnerable areas has been intensified to foil any attempt of militants to sneak into Poonch district.
