Jammu: Coordination Cell, Directorate of School Education Jammu today organised a webinar on the topic ‘Swachch Bharat Hi Shreshta Bharat’ through virtual mode for the students and teaching community of Jammu division.
Dr. G.N. Qasba, Senior Advisor in Integrated Research and Action For Development, New Delhi and Dr. Deepshikha Sharma, HOD Environmental Sciences, Degree College Kathua were the guest speakers on the occasion.
The event was organised as part of a series of events being conducted on the eve of Independence Day celebrations as a build up towards the upcoming 75th Independence Day .
The guest speakers talked to the students about the importance of cleanliness and how this practice was reestablished by Mahatma Gandhi and then reinvented by the current Prime Minister through the Swachch Bharat Mission. The students were familiarized with individual actions they could take in their surroundings to contribute towards nation building.
Dr. Pourush Shrikhandia, Head Coordination Cell conducted the proceedings of the events while team Coordination Cell helped in the smooth conduct of the event.
