Jammu: The first calander week of May 2021 has hit hard the Directorate of School Education Jammu in general and Directorate Head Office at Muthi, Jammu in particular with as many as 88 deaths of staff members being reported, including 4 deaths in Directorate Head Office only.
With the death of Mr. Sandeep Kumar, on Monday, it totals up to 4 deaths in the Directorate Head Office building. Three deaths of staff members , working at the Head Office of Directorate Of School Education Jammu, located at Muthi, Jammu, were reported in the previous calander week also.
Mr. Sandeep Kumar, was posted at the Directorate Head Office and was currently working in the Fee Fixation Committee section of the Directorate.
And only a couple of days ago Mr. O. P. Bhagat , posted as Joint Director with the Directorate breathed his last, as did Mr. Sham Prasad working as Head Assistant and Mr. Bal Bahadur, Class IV th employee at the Directorate Head Office.
Around the same time, Mrs. Saroj Bala w/o Dr. Karan Singh Pawar, working as ‘ Master’ at Government Middle School Gurha Baribrahmna, Jammu, Ms. Renu Verma, working as ‘Master’ at High School Bathera, Zone Bhalwal, Jammu , Mr. Jagdeesh Sharma, working as ‘Master’ at Middle School Chakran, Zone Arnia and Mr. Shub Sharma, working as ‘Master’ at Government Girls High School Bhagwati Nagar Jammu, also left for their final resting place, taking the death Toll to 8 in total.
The Directorate Head Office building was ordered to be closed on Saturday, with Sunday and Monday being holidays, to allow sanitization of the building. Despite things being somber and sombre, the Directorate Head Office is to open today, on Tuesday, 11th of May 2021.
And these are numbers from Jammu city only with reports of 9th death in the week too surfacing.
