Ashok Kumar Former MLA from Ramban today pleaded to Lieutenant Governor to seriously look after the causal working style of Gammon Company, it’s sub-let Contractors and all other Concerned Officers. Ashok while interacting with the affected families said: “Immediate compensation should be provided to the each affected families in Chamba a small hemlet in Seri (Ramban) where several houses are completely damaged and are on the verge of collapse due to insensitive cutting of slopes below in the process of construction of NH-44 Four Lane Project from Nashri to Banihal in Ramban district.
Ashok said in the process of construction of four lane on NH-44 between (Nashri tunnel and Banihal) the formation of huge dust of clouds on everyday basis have become menace for the locals. It is going to impact their lives in long run and may cause chronic disease to the locals. In addition, many houses has been damaged due to unconventional methods. It is serious concern and government must take stringent actions against the main culprits.
Ashok said despite opposition is doing a lot of things for the betterment of society but the media doesn’t show them due to the fact that BJP has exclusive monopoly over the distribution of political content in the Indian Democracy at all micro, meso and macro levels. This proves the popular image of several leaders of BJP despite failure of demonetisation, slow down of economy, historically high rates of unemployment and rising intolerance in country.
Ashok further questioned the Lieutenant Governor for inhuman treatment to the people of far flung Ramban District and strongly criticise the new development Model of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. On the contrary, he said the state administration was far better than the union territory administration. He further stated that due unconventional methods and Corrupt practices in the process of Construction of Four Lane NH-44 the commen citizens along the periphery has been facing many difficulties in their everyday livelihood.
Ashok has appealed to the Ministry of Road and transport, (GOI), Government of Jammu and Kashmir to take proper cognizant of the matter and provide immediate financial help to the affected families. He strongly urged upon the Lieutenant Governor to personally intervene and direct the concerned authorities to rectify this grave situation. People are already economically affected by covid-19 pandemic. It becomes imperative for government to come forward and help voiceless people.
