Ashok Kumar Raises Concern Over Rising Prices Of Essential Commodities

Jammu: Ashok Kumar, Former MLA from Ramban and a senior Congress leader has expressed serious concern over the perpetual price rise of essential commodities like edible oil, pulses and life saving medicines etcetera even in a pandemic where people are already loosing informal jobs and are under huge financial stress. In a statement issued here, he expressed concern over the rising prices of essential commodities, food items and life saving drugs and urged upon the concerned Ministry to swiftly act to contain Inflation as the people are suffering badly.


Ashok has said that the economy is successively declining since 2019 onwards from a High of 8.2 percent to a low of 3.1 percent. Subsequently, the jobs are lost, Income that this job provide are lost and families which are only dependant on these income are badly suffering to maintain their everyday livelihood. It is a great injustice to the people of country who are already under stress from second prolonged lock down due to second wave of covid-19 pandemic. He said if the government ignored the current crisis of Inflation the situation can turn into great disaster and famine like situation could occur in future.


Ashok further said that the we cannot only blame covid-19 pandemic but this situations has arised over the unplanned monetary policy by the BJP Government at the Centre. It is because of their Economic management in last few years that we have is an Economic tragedy. He said our Economic downfall has begun in post-demonetisation as after every quarter there was a down slide of our Economic growth.


Ashok has urged upon the Government of India to swiftly act against the recent Inflation trends in our country as the common people are suffering badly due to financial crunch in their families budget. He also stressed upon the Finance Ministry to reduce the price of diesel, Cooking Gas and other essential commodities. He also urged upon the government to provide financial incentive to the deserved families so that they could sustain their daily livelihood. Government should at least cut the GST on all the life saving medicines if they cannot provide it free as people have Lost their jobs and Income.
