On the directions of Director School Education Jammu, Mt. HR Pakhru, Joint Director School conducted a whirlwind tour of Educationally Backward Blocks of District Kathua including far flung areas of Zone Bani and Basholi.
During his tour he inspected ZEO Office Basholi, Bani, HSS Bani, HS Dhoulha, HS Dhagger, GPS Gowali, HS Panyalag and GHS Bani. He was accompanied by officials from concerned Zonal Education office.
While interacting with Principals, Headmasters and HOIs of the institutions and supervising the working of educational institutes he reviewed the status of online classes, scholarships, augmentation of infrastructural facilities and provision of Mid Day Meals to the students including distribution of dry ration as per directions already conveyed through the Directorate.
He directed the concerned officials to start community classes for the convenience of the students so that their academic loss due to current pandemic situation is covered and their studies do not suffer.
HOIs were directed to approach PRIs of their areas and also contact parents of such students so that who could not attend online classes due to lack of Network or for not having smart phones are benefitted by these community classes.
He held threadbare discussions with prominent citizens during his interactions at schools visited by him and requested them to redouble their efforts so that students who are eligible for various scholarships are not left behind. People were highly appreciative of the gestures shown by Education Department, especially Joint Director School Education department who has left no stone unturned to acquaint the residents of this educationally backward area about various initiatives by the department so that the students of this far flung area are benefitted.
