JAMMU:Directorate of School Education, Jammu today organized a mega PTM (Parent Teacher Meet) covering Government schools across all the ten districts of Jammu division.
The event was coordinated by the counselling cell of DSEJ through District counselling coordinators, DNO, ZCCs, and other officials.
In view of the closure of educational institutions a lot of initiatives were undertaken by Directorate to mitigate the academic loss of students including online classes, tele-classes, radio classes, tele counselling helpline and monthly PTMs wherein parents of the students are also brought on board to solve the issues being faced by the children. Continuing with this objective the key points highlighted and discussed with parents in today’s interaction were Academic achievements / internal assessment, child protection, child sexual abuse with reference to POCSO- ACT 2012 and cyber security.
“Besides academics, issues related to safety and wellbeing of students are necessary to be discussed during PTMs” said Dr. Romesh Kumar, Head Counselling Cell DSEJ.
Monthly PTM has emerged as one of the best practices of Directorate of school education Jammu which connects parents and teachers for discussions on overall development of students.
