‘Eat Right Walkathon and Mela’ organised at Kathua, students partipated in large numbers.

Kathua 05-08-2022 : In an effort to make people aware about impact of healthy nutritional practices, students of different schools of zone Kathua city participated in ‘Eat Right walkathon and Mela’ oragnised by Food Safety and Standards of India (FSSAI) with the support of District Education Office, Kathua. The event commenced with Mr. Rahul Pandey (IAS),Deputy Commissioner, Kathua flagging off a march in the presence of Mr. P. L. Thapa, Chief Education Officer, Kathua and Mr. Kewal Krishan, Zonal Education Officer, Kathua among other dignitaries.The students carried various banners and placards and raised slogans about the event during their march which started from Shaheedi Chowk, passed via Jarai Morh and culminated at Ramleela ground where a small fair was also arranged by FSSAI and students participated in yoga sessions and art competition under supervision of Mr. Pawan Vivek from District Resource Group, Kathua and Mrs. Monika Bhasin, District Incharge Cultural Cell ( DICC, Kathua).
Mr. Atul Gupta (JKAS), Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua graced the ‘Eat right mela’ as Chief Guest for the proceedings. He briefly spoke on the occasion and made the attendees aware about positive nutritional practices as well as negative impacts of harmful nutritional habits on our society. He also felicitated the students with medals and certificates of participation. The Chief Guest appreciated everyone involved in organizing the event and presented certificates of participation to Ms Tanwi Sharma, District Nodal Officer and Ms Rajni, Zonal Nodal Officer for ‘Eat Right School’ program.
